Glenbrook United 16's Win Las Vegas Rotary Cup
|

It took nine rounds of penalty kicks, but Glenbrook United won a very hard fought contest with Infinity Select of Utah, 2-1 (6-5 PK's) to capture the Las Vegas Rotary Mayor’s Cup held over President’s Day weekend in Nevada. Jennifer Peterson buried the game winner in the ninth round after the teams matched each other for 70 minutes of regulation and two five minute Golden Goal overtimes.

3v3 National Champions

The Glenview Titans team comprised of six fifth-grade girls, won the Kick-It 3v3 National Championship Soccer Tournament, held at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla., during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The team went undefeated through its season (29-0-0) and the Disney tournament (6-0-1), winning games against other highly ranked teams from Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Tennessee, Illinois and Pennsylvania. The championship game at Disney pitted the Titans -- the No. 2 seed -- against another undefeated team, the No. 1-seeded Strikerz 98 from Dallas, Texas. As the final seconds ticked off the clock, Glenview came away with a 3-2 victory and brought home the championship trophy. The Titans represent the first team ever from Illinois to win the Disney soccer championship. |
The Glenview Titans 3v3 team consists of Abby Dein, Jillian Jensen, Caitlin Morrison, Olivia Peters, KK Phelan and Taylor Thurston. The same girls also play on the U-11 Girls Elite team.

Players from Girls U11 team clinched the Midwest Regional 3v3 Championship in Peoria. They won 7-0, 4-1 and 5-4 in the quarters, semis and finals. This summer the girls won four tournament crowns (Glenview, Libertyville, Madison and the Midwest Regionals, finishing the season with a perfect 20-0-0 in their age group. This 3v3 team will be one of the top seeds in Disney National 3v3 Championships, also one of the favorites to win the National Title as they finished 4th place in 2007-2008. 2008 Lattof YMCA Challenger League Tournament Champions

Seven players from Girls U11 Gold and two players from Girls U10, were both the regular season and the playoff day championsin the Latoff YMCA Indoor Soccer League. Congratulations to the team!
