The Glenview Soccer Club (GSC) is excited to announce that we have enhanced our player development program, which is detailed in a new Player Development section of the Club’s website.

The Player Development tab is located on the left navigation of the glenviewsoccerclub.com homepage. These new web pages include:

• Player development philosophy statement, outlining GSC’s approach to coaching soccer skills and tactics as well as what is expected of players.

• Skill Band Curriculum page, detailing our previously announced skill band approach and levels. The first test was administered late last fall. Player achievements will be acknowledged with color specific wrist bands, in addition to other recognition opportunities, such as being mentioned in the Director of Coaching newsletter.

• Juggling Club page, explaining why juggling is important, award levels, testing guidelines, juggling champions contest, and fun videos of accomplished soccer ball jugglers. Testing begins in spring, and the page will be updated with player achievements.

• Proper Nutrition page, offering tips on how young soccer players can properly fuel themselves before and after practices and games.

The Player Development section of our website is intended to be the hub for information regarding GSC’s soccer curriculum. We encourage players and parents to review these pages to fully understand GSC’s Player Development program, and to visit these pages periodically.
