Our girls U11 premier team went 2-1-0 in their bracket which qualified them as a wildcard in to the semi-finals of the Celtic Cup tournament over Labor Day weekend. Thanks to some outstanding saves from their goal keeper, they won their semi final 1:0 to move on to the finals.

In the championship match, the team played a very physical Chicago Kickers team. After being pushed to defend in the opening minutes, the girls adjusted and started to build their attacks. They got momentum and scored a goal. After allowing just their second goal against, it was 1:1 at halftime. After a positive halftime talk, the girls came out ready to play and give their all. They dominated possession and scored twice with a final score of 3:1. When the final whistle came, the girls were ecstatic. They played as a team and everyone contributed. “The girls are really thrilled with their cool trophies, but the smile on their faces was my best reward,” said Coach Steve.
